Removeing non-duplications; SSO History; Office 2013
Hi everyone,
Im currently working on an excel sheet. My task is in some form or way, to calculate processing time of cases though diffrent phases. I have attached a simplfied example of the core data i'm working on. As you can see, there's 3 Columns: Caseid, Phase and Date. Some casesid's only occur once (phase 1) as the never proceed to the next phase. Other case id's occur twice, as they go directly from phase 1 to 3, and thridly some cases go though all 3 phases. The date column represents the date the case inters the given phase. What i'd like to do is, calculate the time on avg. it takes a case to proceed from 1 to 3, aswell as being able to adapt the filter to show processtime from phase 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. The cases with only 1 phase are irrelevant, and should thus, somehow, be either filtered away or left out of the equation. My excel expertise is however not great enought to figure out how to do this - which is why i turn to this forum. Do any of you know how to do this? Which tool should i be useing? NB! I cannot change the format of the data as this is the default setup and im currently creating a template required to work with this. Also: Im currently using office 2013 incase this changes anything. Any Help is greatly appreciated! |

Try this on for size.
First off, I used the Format as Table function for both tables. When you see the formulas I used, the reason should be clear. Format as Table can be found on the Home Tab in the Styles section. Not only does it automatically format your table, but it makes formulas easier to read as well as lots of other things. Anyhoo, to the right is the table I made. For each case, it calculates the time to progress between each phase and then gives the average for each. See if this makes any sense for you. If you have any questions or need further help, let me know. |
