Hello,
I am running Windows 10 and I have Office 2016 installed. I tried and tried but I just don't like the new Excel for most of the things I do. I also have Office 2010 and would like to set Excel 2010 as the default for all Excel files. This has been more problematic than I expected. No matter what I do in the Default Apps sections, I cannot get Windows to choose 2010 over 2016. Has anyone ever done this before or have any ideas? Thanks! ***UPDATE**** So I finally got 2010 to stick while opening files directly. However, when I launch a csv, for example, from Outlook 2016, it still used Excel 2016 over 2010?!?!? And if 2010 is already open, trying to open a csv attachment will make the Excel 2010 window active... but the attachment never opens. Last edited by jniesen; 12-08-2016 at 11:49 AM. |

Not that I can figure out. The only option from Add/Remove Programs is to uninstall or repair Office 2016 as a whole.
I considered uninstalling completely and trying to install everything except Excel 2016... but this isn't the final result I would like. Excel 2016 has some awesome new formulas that I already use.. that don't work when opened in 2010. And I figured installing Excel 2016 would eventually just take over the default again anyway. |
