' S1A1A_Tbl
"1A" is repeated? (The table name should be "S1A_Tbl")

I don't know what you are talking about.

Have now made the conditional formatting in sheet 1A!E2:E6 and the formula is like follows:

=(INDIRECT("S"&$B$8&"_Tbl[@Group]")<>"a")*(INDIRECT("S"&$B$8&"_Tbl[@Group]")<>"b")=1
