For Word, there's a registry fix (see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/970154), but I don't know whether there's an equivalent for PowerPoint - you might try replacing 'Word' in the key with 'PowerPoint', plus use the appropriate Office version reference (2010 = 14.0) and see whether that makes a difference.
