I have one table that I want to generate two pivot tables from. The pivot table has got dates for the rows and regions for the columns with sales in the values. I create one pivot table and drag the appropriate fields to the appropriate columns in the first Pivot table, and then create a second pivot table with the same selections. I now want the second pivot table to group in quarters, so I go into the second pivot table, options and group by quarter. However pivot table one also get grouped. Is there a of decoupling them?

You can used the technique described at http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot11.html
under "Create New Pivot Cache for selected PT"
