Default AVERAGEIF function excluding hidden rows

I have the following Averageif function

=AVERAGEIF($M$2:$M$1000,M1005,$L$2:$L$1000)

I would like to filter my table and when I do so, I want the averageif function to only count the visible rows.

Please help
Thanks
