I'm a long time user of earlier versions of the office Suite.
Latest version on my Windows 8 machine (uggggh!) is Excel 2013. Is there ANY way in this new hot mess for me to quickly touch an icon and be magically transported to my documents folder to quickly find and open a document. Nor sure who dreamed up the concept of opening an intermediary File tab page and then having to dig into your documents from there. As you can see from my screen name (Scream name?), I'm just a little frustrated with any extra steps. ![]() Thanks for your ideas & help. Norm |

You can open the dialog box by using the Ctrl+O shortcut, assuming that you first select "Don't show the Backstage when opening or saving files" at File | Options | Save. __________________ Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP |
