blocking junk email

I have a new Surface with excel and wish to block junk email addresses. Under home and then to junk should do it but hate junk is not active. Do I need to turn something on someplace?

Are you looking for a way to block junk mail in Outlook. There are a few ways to do this but it would be an Outlook topic.

Yes, but under Home the junk option is not lit up. it will not select. if I right click on an email the pull down will not let me click on junk either. is there something someplace I need to set up?
