Autonumbering each row

Hello,

I'd like to set up autonumbering for each row in my Excel spreadsheet. This Excel Serial number would be the first column. There is data in all the other columns. I also want the numbering to recalculate if I insert rows with new data.

How about putting the formula =row() in the A column? If you use the Format as Table function (Home tab), the table will even insert the formula when you insert a new line.
