Am having problems with slicers in power pivot – sometimes when I choose to incorporate a slicer it just doesn't appear – it’s not that the option is greyed out it just doesn't get implemented.

I click "insert slicer" and even choose which column i want to slice and then nothing happens it's as if i never chose a column to slice. Additionally, if i choose the slice from inside the field list the same thing happens. it's very aggravating so would love to figure out what the issue is.
