I have a very modest worksheet with columns of text, dates, and numbers. I try to sort a text column and the other columns do not get sorted with the sort column. I've, of course, done this thousands of times successfully. Is there something I am missing??

Hi
The question is how did you do the sorting? Normally the first cell of the column to be sorted should be selected. Nothing else. By sorting as desired, excel itself will recognize the area to sort. |

Thank you for the response. I found the problem. Just to the left of the column that I wanted to sort on, there was a narrow column just used as a spacer. When I removed that column it sorted just fine. Thanks......
