Hi I'm new here and I have been given a task to do and I have no idea how to do it or even if it's possible to do on Excel.
I have been given a template where I have to input data for different cities and companies. Is there a formula that I can put in so that all you do is type in say the city name or the company name and it shows you the total number for that only. EG my template will have cities (there will be well over 200 entries) lets say there is NY, Boston, Las Vegas and I want to find the total for all the NY entried is there a way to put a formula in so all I have to do is type NY or Boston etc and it gives the value? Thank you |

Hi perhaps you need the COUNTIF function?
