Hello,
I have a series of data that I have complied, this data comes straight from another application. I want to total the weight of each material (without sorting) in a new cell. How would I set this up. I have set up a filter and insert a subtotal function (after filtering) in another cell. however when I un-filter I get the total weight of all the different materials, as if I only inserted the sum function. I hope the picture of what I want to do has come through. Thanks excel help.JPG |

Make another table with all the unique values of material then use a sumif equation. If you attach your sample excel file, rather than a picture, I can show you easily.
