Default I can no longer open Excel in Multiple Windows

I am still using Office 2000 on a Windows XP machine. All of a sudden, I can no longer open multiple individual Excel windows and, using Alt + Tab, tab between each one. They all now open in just one window.

Can anyone tell me if I have turned something on that I shouldn't have?

Thank you in advance,

Steve
