How to obtain the inverse tan of a value in degree/minute second?

In the attached screenshot, I wanted to find the inverse tan of -1.5. I applied the equation shown in the screenshot but the result is not given in degree/minute/ second?

Is there a way to obtain the inverse tan of a value degree/minute/second?

The link you have provided is very useful. The issue here is the conversion is for viewing purposes only. For example, if the values are required to be summed then this operation can’t be performed directly.

The issue here is that Excel doesn’t understand the format of angles and thus can’t handle correctly their algebra.

Paul has provided workaround to this problem in which angles are presented in the required format and the operations are also working

I went back to the posts of Mr. Paul and found out that the answer of this question is documented there

1. The custom format [hh]˚mm'ss'' is used to display and facilitate the angles operations (attached)
2. The angle 45˚15’20’’ is type as 45:15:20 in the cell that has that customized format
3. To convert degree/minute/second angle to decimal we just multiply by 24
4. To convert decimal angle to degree/minute/second we divide by 24
