Default Sum Function

My spreadsheet, i have cells which have a drop down box we different option for example Option 1, Option 2, Option 3.

Is it possible for me to have 3 seperate cells as SUMS, and when i select an option it adds to the total for that option

if i choose option 1, it adds 1 to the total
if i change it to option 2, then it takes off 1 from option 1 total, and adds 1 to the option 2 total

hope this makes sense

Hi
Your description does make sense but what are you actually trying to achieve overall?

Data Input totals... Say i have 3 different lots of data to input for example data 1, data 2, data 3

I want to have totals that update themselves when i select something from the drop down box, and change when i change the thing i select from the drop down menu.

I want to know how many of each piece of data i have entered

Hi
Have a look at the example to see if this is what you want.
Kind regards
Tony
