I am trying to create a spreadsheet that calculates prices for customers. I have already created a dropdown menu which displays the items being sold. Now what I need to do is have whatever is selected in the dropdown menu return a numerical value in another cell. Next I need to connect the that value with the next dropdown menu and have that recalculate a new price in a the cell. Example:
First item in drop down menu: A, B, C, D, If I select A, a price will show up in the next cell Next item dropdown menu: 1, 2, 3, 4, If I pick 2, another number will show up in the cell and would be A(price)+2(price). Is that possible in Excel? If not does anyone know what software can do that? ![]() ![]() |

Hi, please see the attached workbook.
Sheet1 contain selection Sheet2 data table in order to put the dropdown menu in go: Data Tab in upper ribbon -> Data Validation -> Data Validation You will see the required settings. Now you can put your items, remember to increase the source for the data validation once you put more items and increase the range for Vlookup formula in columns item price and margin Kind regards, Wries |
