hello!
I want to select some cells and to click a button in order to check for and possibly highlight the differences of the text between all the rows of the text how can I do this? thanks! |

here is an example
I want to check this, in order to locate errors fast, especially when the xls is generated by OCR process I want to do this in Excel because I work mainly with that format, but any other fast way would be ok |

Your attachment just contains some lists; it doesn't show how you want them compared and how you want them highlighted.
Do you want them all compared to the first line, or to each line above, or.... ? |

Sorry for the slow reply - I've been really busy.
The degree of difficulty depends on whether you can assume that the cells with each piece of text are clumped together in groups. If they are, and if you are willing to compromise on the colours, then you could differentiate between them using conditional formatting to put borders on the cells. If you want to go the VBA route then you'll need to loop through the cells in each column, identify each distinct value and associate a colour with that value which would be used to fill the cell's interior. Have a go and post back if you're having problems with whichever approach you go for. |
