And a simple link between workbooks is not enough?
=[FirstTask.xls]Sheet1!C10 and so on... If you don't know to create and change the links in a workbook, try these steps: with all your workbooks open, in a cell in daily report.xls type the equal sig n = then activate the workbook first task .xls and click cell C10 in Sheet1, then press enter ; you will have this formula in daily report: =[FirstTask.xls]Sheet1!C10 . Do the same for the other workbooks. If you change the location of the linked work, you have to change the links to indicate the new location. In daily report, on the menu line, click on Edit-->Links ; a dialog window will show; select the source file needed, then click on change links, and browse to the location of your file, select it click ok. Whenever you open daily report, the links will be updated with the new values from source files if you make the necessary settings: Don't ask whether to update links when I open any workbook, and update links automatically: This option is for the current user only, and affects every workbook opened. Other users of the workbook are not affected. This option also affects links to other programs.
![]() Warning This option affects all users of the workbook. If you choose to not update links, and not to prompt, users of the workbook will not know the data is out of date.
Note You will still be notified if there are any broken links. source: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...005199380.aspx http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...005203695.aspx Hope this answers your problem... |
