Default Please Help Me insert a row

I have been doing data entry in excel 2007 for about an hour now and I've inserted a new row for each receipt. My problem is that I can't insert a new row now even though I just did about thirty seconds ago. I've checked other forums and solutions haven't worked for me. Please help me, I'm starting to panic.

Hi k1w1999,

Why are you inserting rows? Is there a reason you can't just move down one row at a time?

Excel 2007 supports 65536 rows in compatability mode, and 1048576 rows in native mode. So, unless you've done a great deal of data entry, I doubt you've used up all the available rows. The most likely explanation is that you already have something on the last available row. What row do you end up on if you press Ctrl-End? Is there anything on that row between whatever column you ended up in and column A?

Default the dates

I'm trying to keep the dates in order, unless there is a way I can have excel reorganize them for me.

You can sort the dates with the Data Ribbon - Sort and Filter

As Pecoflyer says, Excel can easily re-sort the data after you've input it. You still haven't told us the answer to the other questions I posed, though, so we can't tell you anything more about why you can't add more rows.

Default ctrl + end

When I press ctrl + end, I end up on row 104. Between 104 and 1 are all the entries I've made using data from the receipts. The problem is now fixed and I thank everyone who helped me out. I guess I need to study excel literature a little bit more so I don't give myself a heart attack.
