Default .mix to .jpg and Picture It!

My new laptop already had Windows 10 installed (64bit). I have MS Office 2010 which I installed myself. I had no luck with the suggestions to use WORD - (insert .mix picture & save the doc as a web page . . .). I owned a 10+ yr old copy of Picture It!, which according to internet was not compatible. I have MANY .mix pictures. I closed all programs, inserted the 'install' disk for Picture It! and it did install. However I MUST right click on the program icon and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR or it doesn't work. I then select "get picture" - select the folder the .mix pics are in - right click on the pic I want to change (this must be done 1 pic at a time) - open it - click on "save & send" - click on "save as" - use the drop down menu to select the file extension you want (jpg, bmp . . .) and select the folder you want it saved to. Hope this helps.
