Default Flowing Numbered Lists Around Images

I'm currently using Word 2010 and in earlier versions, I could run numbered lists around an image and they would align correctly; in Word 2010 that doesn't work. I've tried adjusting the right-hand margin of the image and the tab settings on the ruler but nothing has worked so far. I've attached a screen shot just in case I'm not being clear enough. Does anyone know how that works in the current version of Word?

Hi Paul,

What isn't working the same as before? Your screen shot seem to indicate that the text does flow around the image.

Hi Paul,

If you look closer at the image, you'll see that the numbered list item itself, to the right of the image, doesn't align correctly. if you look at a numbered list like this:
  1. Here's a numbered list that runs for more than one line; notice how the text lines up like it's supposed to.
But when I insert an image to the left of that in my document, and set its alignment as 'Left' and its text wrapping as 'Through", the numbered list item doesn't line up like the one above. The second line displays directly beneath the '1'. It used to work fine in Word 97 - 2003 format without doing anything than what I've described above, but it doesn't in Word 2010. Maybe it's just something else Microsoft broke in the new version!

Does that make sense?

Hi Paul,

There was a bug in Word versions 2000-2003 (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/209633) that meant hanging indents around shape objects were lost - unless the paragraph used a numbered format. It seems that when MS introduced Word 2007, they replicated the bug - except that it now applies to paragraph using numbered formats as well. Other than using a two-column table, the only workaround is to put the image on the right side of the page.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the response and the solution. I hadn't had anyone ask me to do that type of formatting in a while, so I thought I was doing something wrong. The solution of using a Table is perfect and I wish I had thought of it myself. It's such a simple formatting issue, you'd think that they would have fixed it my now, but I guess that's just wishful thinking on my part. Anyway, I really appreciate the help; thanks very much!

In fact, they've gone the other way - it's worse than before!
