Default Putting shapes on a word table

Hi. I have a calender in the form of a table on a word document. I want to draw an arrowed line between two dates using Insert -> Shapes. This cauuses the number's in the cells to re-adjust to the added shape. I can insert a picture on a word table and select format picture and wrap text. Can I not do this with a shapd arrow so it sits on top of any text underneith?

Ta.

Wrap text in shape is greyed out.

Hello Pablo,

I've had no trouble with a line arrow or a block arrow.

I've attached the document.

You could try copying the shapes from my document and manipulating them.

Using Word 365 Windows desktop application.

No that is not what I ment. Anyone can do that. See my attachment. See if you can get the arrows to be perfectly horizontal and even sit on top of the numbers. The number 3 on row 5 for December moves up to get out of the way of the arrow. I did say in my post I wanted the arrow to overlay the data underneith.!!! And I would like it horizontal.

Not a problem. See attachment.

To make the arrows exactly horizontal, simply give them a vertical height.

To stop the cell content moving around, lock the arrow anchor somewhere outside the cell (I've locked the anchors to the top rows).

You can now move the arrows around to your heart's content.

Hi. I have managed to move the anchor. Positioning is tricky as it is trial and error and you don't see the result until [OK] and start again. However. I don't see making it horizontal and not afecting the text. See attached. only did this on the top calender I can't see horizontal adjustment only absolute positioning.

You have a non-zero height. Unlike the example I gave you, you also haven't locked the anchor to a location outside the cell in question.

Other than the Ribbon changes introduced with Office 2007, nothing has changed in that regard since Word 97...
