Thanks Mike and Charles.

The Snipit tool doesn't do what I need to do. I tried different ways of using it and I never get what I want.

I also took a look at Snagit, but for now I'm holding off because I found something free on Windows that does exactly what I need.

It's Paint 3D. I can add shapes, typing, 3D and all sorts of stuff. It doesn't save the additions on JPG format, so I simply convert the picture to PNG and everything is there. If I need a JPG, I simply convert the JPG. After all this, the picture with the typing can be imported to Word intact!

If you haven't tried Paint 3D, give it a shot. You will be amazed.
