Thanks for the reply. No, the text continues to cover as a print too. I recently scrapped the file and started anew. This time I added the picture as a shape (same as before) but then simply typed in the doc. and the text did not obscure the underlying picture. This leads me to think that there was some problem with the text that I Copied and Pasted originally (I just used a random block of text to see how the page would look with writing on top of the picture). Yes, the letterhead is now okay, but I remain nonplussed how this happened in the first place.
