Hi Robert
It may be that you are viewing the document with the Navigation Pane open, showing Thumbnails (small images of each page). See the screen grab below. This was taken on a Mac, but would be similar on a PC with Word 2003 (not sure about 2007). If this is the case, the thumbnails are just for navigating in the document -- they don't print. To turn them off, go to the View menu and click Navigation Pane.
