I also encountered the same problem when I replicated the physical % import either through Excel or XML.

Unfortunately, I don't know what is causing it but a workaround is to add a new Cost custom field, say Cost1 & rename it Calculated BCWP and enter the following formula.

[Baseline Cost]*[Physical % Complete]/100

and for "calculation for task and group summary rows", select Rollup: Sum.

Hide the default BCWP and display the Calculated BCWP field and it will work with both Excel import and manual update.
