Please correct your profile - it says you're using Windows 8, and anyone relying on that would be unable to provide the correct advice in this case.
Many users have reported the Word auto-start problem, which appears to have been caused by a recent update. A more recent update (which appears not to have been installed on your system yet) corrects the problem.
