After running the Acrobat add-in, several Word settings are changed. It took me a while to figure out how these settings were getting changed. I finally figured out it was the Acrobat add-in. I ended up writing a macro (MyStdSettings) to restore the settings: It sets Show Picture Place Holders (Off), Field Shading (Always), Show Field Codes (Off), Show Text Boundaries (Off), Track Revisions (Off), and Spell & Grammar Checking (On). I don't thing the add-in changed all of those, but it absolutely changed at least a couple of them. It should not change any settings. This is typical of Adobe arrogance.

Also, the add-in will not run without first saving the document. This is more Adobe arrogance thinking they know what I need better than I do. I'll save the document when I want to save it. I have no problem with them warning me, but to force a save is arrogant.

There is no better tool than Acrobat...
Not in my opinion. Acrobat is one of the worst, most poorly designed products ever put out by a major corporation. Even Microsoft was not able to do worse. I wish Woody Leonhard would write a book about the gotchas in Acrobat like he did for Word. It would be twice the size.
