Default Form creation with repeating page template?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a solution to a document i want to create but i don't know if its possible to do what i want, or if word isn't the right office program for it.

I need to create a 'software revision log' which will consist of a first page with the project information, a second page with the hardware information then a revision page which would then be repeated for however many revisions of the software there are.

Is it possible to create a document that consists of three pages but then as new pages are added it would use the page 3 layout as a template to repeat on all following pages?...without having to copy and paste it from the previous page?

I'm stumped on this one and searching online hasn't given me the answer. Any help much appreciated!

Look into making your page 3 an AutoText entry. The heading line should be formatted for "page break before."

Just had a quick look autotext, would there be a way to have that automatically insert on each new page or would it have to be inserted manually?

You can give your entry a name like newpage and have it display a prompt. Pressing Enter will insert your entry. The screenshot below is for an entry named pl_jurat. It inserts an entry that starts with the language "State of Wisconsin."

I would urge you to try it. Remember that AutoText must be stored in a template. If you have the first line of your entry formatted (paragraph formatting) for Page Break before, it will give start a new page with your material.

You could even record a macro (saving it to the same template) that inserts your AutoText and then give that macro an Icon on the QAT (also saved in the template). Then your users could simply click on that button.
