Generic style for any font
Hello,
I want to create a generic style for any font. For instance, if I have one paragraph in Arial 10 pts and another paragraph in Tahoma 14 pts, I want a style that allows me to set bold, margins, and italic without affecting the font or the font size. How can I do it? |

You can create a style whose font is set to "+Body" which means that it uses whatever font is the default for the current document theme.
Alternatively, create a style based on the Normal style and set bold and italic and any other settings that you want. As long as you don't explicitly modify the font, it will follow the settings for the Normal style.

Note, this will not work within the same document, though. That is because the BaseParagraphStyle is the same throughout a document.
Further margins (as distinguished from paragraph indents) are section properties, not paragraph or style properties. Understanding Styles in Microsoft Word You could write a macro that would apply these as direct formatting or perhaps create separate styles for different base formatting. Short answer is -- you can't do what you want using Styles. |
