Question about selecting text w/mouse
Word 2007. When selecting text with the mouse in the usual left button manner, Word "helps" by including text it "thinks" I want. For example, when selecting this way from left to right, if I attempt to include the space at the beginning of the word I'm trying to select, the app includes the word to the left of that space. Similarly, if I try to select a portion of a word, leaving, say, the 1st few letters, it will "help me" by including those letters, though I didn't intend that. I'd rather it just let me select what I want. Can this behavior be turned off?

In the Advanced category of the Word Options dialog box, try clearing the check mark next to "When selecting, automatically select entire word." You may also want to clear the "Smart paragraph selection" option.
