Thumbs down Word Menus - Edit lost

While making changes using View:Toolbars:Customize Toolbars and Menus... I inadvertently dragged the Edit menu off the menu bar. I can't for the life of me figure out how to put it back. Can anyone help?

With the Customize dialog open, you should be able to drag the Edit menu back into Word. Sorry, I have never used MacWord, so I can't suggest any specific steps.

Default Dragging

Yes, I thought so too. But it only works for Commands, not Menu items.

Lightbulb Solution

So I took another look at View:Toolbars:Customize Toolbars and Menus.
On the Commands tab there are more choices under Categories. Scrolling brings you to Built-in Menu items. Then in the Command column the usual Menu headings appear and those selections can be dragged back to the Menu bar. Thanks for sending me back there.

I'm glad you got it sorted. I recall that WinWord had a "Built-in menus" category (in the Customize dialog box) in versions up to and including Word 2003, which still supported the menu bar.
