Default Page number Macro

Hi,

We have a custom macro which displays the document number and version number ex : 333.1 in the footer.
When we insert the page number using insert-->page number--->Bottom of Page using the tool bar option and when we print
we only see the document number and version number printed and not the page number.
How can we display page number using a macro?Any Suggestions?
Thanks

Hi kimsi,

You don't need a macro. It seems from your description that that page # field is being positioned outside the printable area. You could open the footer and drag the field to where you want it to appear.

My existing .dot file which we have placed in MS office 14 startup folder is replacing the Pagenumber with the Document number. As we want the page number to be displayed on the footer center with center aligned is not displaying the page numbers when I save and print the word document. When we use display the page numbers at top of the page and Page margins options it works fine.Only it don't works for Bottom of the page.Any Suggestion will help.
Thanks

Hi kimsi,

So open the template, and insert a PAGE field excatly where you want it, then save & close the template. From then on, any documents created from the template will have the page number in the correct position.

I'm not sure what you mean by:

Word has both FILENAME and PAGE fields, but neither will replace the other of its own accord - user intervention has caused this.
