Puzzled by Line Spacing
Hello Forum
I grew up on Wordperfect but acquired Word ... because MS. I continue to be puzzled by Word for doing anything simple like write a letter and always revert to Wordperfect out of frustation. For example, line spacing. The minimum option (that I can see) is 1.0 which, I think, means single spacing. But on the screen results for 1.0 spacing looks like 2.0, double spacing. When printed it also looks like double spacing. Thanks for helping. |

Right-click anywhere on the screen. From the resulting menu, select PARAGRAPH...Then, at the SPACING section, select LINE SPACING and set to your desired option.

If you are pressing Enter at the end of every "line," then you are in fact creating new paragraphs, and when you do that, Spacing Before/After is added to the mix.
First of all, make sure that you only press Enter when you really want a new paragraph. Then, adjust Spacing Before and Spacing After to the values you want. Look in the Paragraph dialog box where you'll find these options close to the Line Spacing options.
