Hi,
I am writing a document just now and need to change the headings for each appendix so that they read 1 , 1.1 etc (there are 7 appendices). The problem is that I have headings from 1 to 7 in the main part of the document and for each appendix I want the heading to begin at 1 again. How would I go about doing this? All threads that I have read so far have been about creating your own numebring style etc... Thanks in advance |

Hi cobrown,
You will presumably have used a number of Word's heading Styles for the existing numbers. What you can do for the appendices is to start at the next lower heading Style and unlink it from the preceding Styles. If you do that, and modify the Styles below that, your appendices can have their own sequence of heading and paragraph numbers.

Thanks for the reply, I sorted out how to do it by going into the numebring tab and then set numbering value to 1. Seemed to do the trick.
