If this is in the wrong area, please feel free to move it.
I have two questions regarding a Word template for a newspaper. I am using Word 2007. First: The template is two pages, a front page and a second one. Is it somehow possible to "copy" the second page and insert it so I have a three page paper? If not, how can I create a third page? Second: Is there any way to fit the text to the text box? I don't mean by changing the size of the text, but by stretching/expanding the words/letters so that if looks more uniform in its text box columns, like a book would be done for publishing. I am not very savvy regarding the formatting of something like this and would be most grateful for any assistance. |

Hi
You refer to the template, but as there are several out there, it's probably better to upload it or a document version of it to understand where you are coming from. If I'm reading this right, you probably have a cover page and the second page is in a new section and the "setup" of the document is using text boxes instead of columns and column breaks for the newspaper layout. Will you be going beyond three pages? Will the newspaper require different headings etc. If not, then at the end of the second page, insert a page break, then select all the information on page two, copy it and paste it into the next page. |

Hi Julie
Thanks for the response. I eventually managed to stumble through that process ![]() Now I am wondering whether there is a way to stretch the text to the width of the column/text box. There will just be three pages, that's more than enough! I've uploaded the template here. |

Was as I expected. Turn on the show paragraph and formatting (backwards P) if not already selected. Insert page break after last paragraph mark. Select information on page two, copy and then paste after the page break you have just inserted. When I tried it not all selected so you might have to copy and paste one or two individually. Then to create the desired alignment, select the text box and choose justify as your option. These are all under the paragraph group and will show alignment as left. Justify is the last option in this group.
Good Luck. |

That was it! Thanks so much. I just couldn't find the darn justify feature. I tried that one one text box but I'm afraid it just doesn't come out as well as it does when laying out a book. The text looked too spaced out in places. I think I will just leave it as it. This is only a fun thing anyway.

Feel free to come back if you have anymore questions. Please mark this query solved (which is under thread tools along the top of the first post) - I only point it out as I was doing a bit of a der moment 'cos I couldn't find it myself before. |
