I have written a large manuscript (500 pages) in Word 2003 using Georgia font (similar to Times New Roman). In certain places throughout the text I use italics for emphasis, while in other places I change paragraphs to Arial font.
Every time I open the document to make edits, some (but not all) of the italicized words change back to normal, and some (but not all) of the Arial paragraphs revert back to Georgia. I am getting very tired of having to re-italicize text and re-format paragraph fonts back to Arial. Anyone have ideas regarding the cause of these reversions and how I can stop them? |

I'm having a similar problem with Adobe Garamond Pro reverting back to Times New Roman even though the Font box up top says differently. My italics still display in Adobe Garamond Pro, but the normal text does not. I suspect it's a problem with the actual font file (.TTF/.OTF) but I'm still looking for an answer too.
My suggestion would be to delete and reinstall the font from a different source. No sense in replacing a corrupted file with the same corrupted file, right? That's worked for me in the past using MS-2007 and with MS-2010 it doesn't seem to happen. <edit> I just happen to have a doc where this was happening earlier today and now it's not. It opens fine and the font is correct. So, maybe even try a power-down reboot and see what happens. My work PC only has 1GB of shared memory, so there's no telling what'll stop working when the well runs dry. |
