(GURU Needed) Elaborate Formatting of TOC
I am formatting my Final Year Project and have come across what can only be described as a beautiful formatted paper. I have attached the TOC for others to see and just wondering how this is possible to replicate in word.
I am pretty good with formatting, but the way this is done looks like it could only be accomplished using tables and the table of contents. I have researched and there is not much on this around. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Well, see if this helps... I have major (thesis-esque) documents that use fancier formatting for the ToC. See the picture for my design - in this case, I use 4 different levels of ToC: SECTION X; Chapter #; #.#; #.#.#.
Go to Home tab --> Styles --> Manage Styles --> Edit and you can select ToC 1 through ToC 9 to edit separately. Then in my case for ToC 1, I selected it --> Modify then selected Bold, centred, don't show page #s, etc. Hope this helps a little. Not sure how I would get the full-page underline without "cheating", but there may be something under Modify for that too...? Bryan |
