Default Messy green lines

Hi there, my name is Will and I am new to the forum.

I have a question regarding the green wave lines which appear under the text when saving documents. The question is...how do you get rid of them?

I believe you are describing what happens when grammar check detects (possible) errors. If you right-click an underlined word, what suggestion is given?

You should also verify that the correct language has been specified for text. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MasterSpellCheck.htm.

No suggestion, its the format of the document that's causing the errors, not grammar.

I got the impression that suggestions are always given, no matter which type of error is being flagged. See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...584.aspx?CTT=1 (Office Hours: The next generation of the spell checker). But my native language doesn't support the contextual spelling & grammar feature, so I have no practical experience with this.

In Office button | Word Options | Proofing, you can choose not to check grammar as you type; see if turning off the option for the contextual spelling makes a difference.

OK, saving as PDF will certainly be an effecient workaround. But did you try the options I mentioned in my previous reply?

Thank you for that last input. Unfortunately the said files are designed to be opened on anonymous computers, so that method is not an option. Thanks anyway though.

OK, it's certainly more convenient to distribute the document as a PDF.

However, if (at some point) you want to distribute a Word document, you can turn off spellchecking for the entire document by selecting the content (Ctrl+A) and then choosing "Do not check spelling or grammar" in the Review tab | Set Language dialog box. (It's even more practical to set this option for the styles you are using.)
