Default Dynamic linking of text?

In MS Word 2007, is there a way to dynamically link text in an external file?

I want to have a single document that contains header text that will be common to many other documents. When the header text is edited, I'd like the changes to reflect in all the other documents.

Is this possible?

Thanks
Eric

If by "dynamic" you mean "immediate," using an OLE link is probably the best approach. Create a separate document with the content you want to reuse, then Paste Special (as link) into each of the target documents.

An alternative is to create an AutoText entry and insert it in various documents via the AUTOTEXT field. After you have modified the AutoText, you can update the field in each target.

A third possibility is saving the header text in a separate document and use the INCLUDETEXT field to add this content into the target documents.
