I am using a pleading template downloaded from Office.com under File>New>Office.com Templates in Word Office 2010.
At the end of the pleading document, I wish to have a clear, blank page without the lines and numbers generated by the pleading template. Can this be done? Thanks. |

Hi
All you need to do is go to the end of the document and insert a Break on the next page as follows: 1. Go to the end of the document. 2. Click on the Page Layout tab. 3. Click on the Breaks option. 4. Select Next page. then: 5. Go to the end of the document again. 6. Click on the PageLayout tab 7. Click on Line Numbers and select None. This will turn off line number in the second section of the document only. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |

Thanks, Tony. I tried your suggestion, but when I went to Line Numbering, "None" was already checked off. I think this template I downloaded from Office.com doesn't use the line numbering feature to create the line numbers. Moreover, how do I get rid of the lines that vertically span the left and right margins?

Page Layout Tab|Page Background Group
Choose Page Borders, deselect lines not required. In the Apply To: area you have a few options if you wish to apply to This Section you will have to make sure you have inserted a new section break before the page you require without lines (Page Setup) Julie Willis |

Hi
I have created a new Legal Pleadings Template and tested it and it works okay on my machine. Here it is. Test it and let me know if it works. The changes suggested earlier need to be made in the actual template and not a copy of it. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |

It turns out this Office.com pleading template places both the vertical lines and the numbers in the header section of the document. Even though the lines and numbers run down the side of the page and are not what one would ordinarily think of as header elements, to edit them you have to edit the header.
The trick was to click on the header in the last page of the document, which opens up the header and footers tab. I unselected the "link to previous" option under Header and Footers Tools|Navigation. Then I could go in and delete the lines and numbers affecting the last page only. My question might just as well have been "How do you delete the header for the last page of the document only?" I don't believe the template utilizes the line numbering feature or the border feature of Word to create the lines and numbers. The numbers were in a text box and the lines were called autoshapes. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. |
