I have emailed you with the solution to your issue for reasons of your urgency. Basically you have all your images collected into a group. If you right-click on the grey box for example and then choose Grouping followed by Un-group and then click in a blank area of the document to de-select all images collectively. You can then delete individual images as you see fit without losing your pictures.
