Linking from Excel to Word
Hi There, I am tearing my hair out over this and hope someone can solve the mystery. I have created a standard letter format for my company that is linked to our Job List (xls) Therefore the job number references the job name. This works on all computers on the network fine except one. All the ticks, etc in options are identical on each computer. This single computer references the 'link' as an object which i believe is the problem. I am using 2007 all os are XP. Appreciate anyones help Streng |

Try uninstalling Microsoft Office and deleting all registry entries, then reinstalling and see if you get the same problem. To find the entries, after deleting Microsoft office open your start menu>run.
Then when the window pops open type in 'regedit' and hit run. Within regedit hit ctrl + f and type in office, delete all registry entries that pop up. Repeat the last step but instead of office search for word, excel, powerpoint, etc until it cannot find anymore entries that coincide with your choices. After all of this is done reinstall Microsoft Office. |

Thanks for your reply, if that is the only way I guess I shall have to do it.
Will do it when I get an opportunity Regards Streng. |

I hope it works, sometimes annoying solutions like these are the least complicated way to solve the problem.
