Default Word 2010 vertical scroll bar partly off-screen

The right-half of the VERTICAL scroll bar is partly off-screen, whether in restored mode or maximized mode.

Neither Outlook 2010 nor IE 8 has this problem. Anyone else ever seen this?

I haven't seen anything similar before. My first thought was that it has something to do with the display settings (or the chosen Windows theme), but since only Word is affected that seems less likely.

As a troubleshooting step, have you tried starting Word in Safe mode? Does that make a difference?

To start Word in Safe mode, hold Ctrl as you start the application. When asked about Safe mode, say yes. You will have to manually create a document (or open an existing one); then you'll see the vertical scroll bar.

We are getting this at our firm as well (Windows 7 / Office 2010 32-bit). At first, it seemed controllable by insuring the Screen Resolution was set to Detect the Dell Display rather than the default Generic Non-PnP Monitor (though a KVM switch made that not stick). Now I see that editing the normal.dotm from Calibri font to Times New Roman causes this as well. Any further information on this? Did you ever receive an answer?

Thank you.
