Default special/escape/insertion characters in word

Hi,
Can we insert a html table, or any data that looks like a table
into a word document?

For example, If I have the following lines in notepad,

R1C1 | R1C2 | R1C3 \n R2C1 | R2C2 | R2C3

when I copy it to a microsoft word document,
it should be displayed in a nice table with 2 rows and 3 columns (by recognizing that | and \n are column and row separators respectively)

Even the google God did not provide me any solution for this.
