Default Place pages in alpha order.

I have a file of all the songs I play on the guitar with a table of content. How can I sort the file so all the songs will be in alpha order by song title?

Need more info about the file. Is each song a paragraph? Is the first part of the paragraph the song title? Is the data in a table?

Each song title is a header. None of them are in a paragraph or in tables.

More information? Gee, let me guess... your song titles aren't really in the margins of the pages, they are paragraphs formatted with heading styles. Let me also guess that this is not just simply a list of song titles, but between song titles is text that needs to stay with the song title when they are sorted. Am I close? If I am correct, can you please state which heading style?

sorry I didn't mean to offend you.
Go to Outline View (View tab > Outline)
Use the Show Level drop-down to choose whatever Heading level you have for song titles. If you choose the correct one, then only the song titles will be displayed.
Select all the titles. Go to the Home tab of the Ribbon and click the Sort button (this button is in the Paragraph group)

Go to the View tab and change back to Print Layout View.
