How to cancel printing??
I recently updated to Office 2010 & am quite surprised to learn that the option to cancel a print job midstream is gone! I have attached a screenshot of an old-style "Print Dialogue" box with the "Cancel" option in the lower right. This is very similar to the dialogue box that popped up when I wanted to print a Word document in Office 2007. Any suggestions on how to reinstate this obvious & commonly-used option would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I created a shortcut for my printer & have to manually open & cancel whatever documents are in the queue--a multiple-click solution that not only wastes unnecessary time, but more importantly, wastes paper: the longer it takes me to cancel, the more unintended pages get printed out. This is neither an elegant nor acceptable solution. Thanking you in advance for your attention to this matter. |

Printer Cache
Hi,
I believe that there is a print queue dialogue box, if it is a large document I somoetimes see it, but it disappears quickly as the print job is placed quickly to the printer. The printer usually has a cache and this where the print job queue will be hiding. My way, although not ideal, is to take the printer offline and then 'flush the queue'. A quicker way is to turn off the printer for a few seconds, which can leave paper part fed, but this can quickly be removed. Sorry, but why do you have this problem in the first place? Do not press print if you do not want it! Hope this helps. |
