Changing Caption Numbers
Good Morning, Folks -
Is there a way to change the start number for photo captions? For example, normally, if you insert picture captions in a document, it will start with "Figure 1", then "Figure 2" and so forth throughout the document. Is there a way to change it so the captions start at, say, "Figure 24" and have all the following captions update accordingly? Thank you, RunningPirate |

Hi Running Pirate,
It seems that you can't change number start at of the caption. There isn't any option to customize it. I only know we can change 'start at' of numbering. So try this way by making numbering at the below of your pictures. A bit more complicated. Good luck, Sinhneu |

Word captions make use of SEQ fields. The user interface won't allow you to change the starting number, but you can do it manually. Press Alt+F11 to reveal the field codes. Locate the first { SEQ Figure } field. At the end of the field code, type in \r 11 and then press Alt+F9 again to hide field codes. To update the fields, switch to Print Preview and then back to your previous view (Ctrl+F2 followed by ESC).
