Default How to align page to left side instead of centre

This might seem like a strange question...

I work best at 11 pt font with 100% zoom on my monitor. With this setting, the page looks like this. I need the navigation pane to show the styles.

The problem is that the page is centered and makes it difficult to read, for the right side of the page becomes rather far away. I would prefer to have the page aligned right next to the navigation pane, with no blue gap in between.

But without zooming in, the horizontal scroll bar does not appear and I cannot shift the page. If I zoom in, the text becomes un-optimally big. I don't want to turn off the navigation pane either as I need it.

Any chance there might be a way to do something? I have the same prob in Acrobat too but there I just crop the left margin for viewing and uncrop it for print (which I hardly do).

Cheers,
Jay

Default MArgin

You can certainly eliminate your left margin temporarily in Word, if you haven't tried that. On the Page Layout tab, select Margins, and then Custom margins at the bottom of the list. Set your left margin to, perhaps, 0.1, or as you like.

Best,
Ulodesk

Thanks Ulodesk.

That does help but essentially the document pane does not move at all. The blue gap at the left is still there. I guess this is the problem with 16:9 widescreens. Great for movies, but too wide for working with a document (I find it irritating to read text extending from the left all the way to the right), yet too narrow for working with 2 snapped side by side.

A workaround I found was to use Winsplit - http://winsplit-revolution.com/ - to snap the window to 75% of the horizontal screen estate. So it looks like this:

Cheers,
Jay
